Testing Feedback Methods While Following a Line on a 2D Plane This project evaluated three different feedback methods while following a line on a 2D plane. A group of test subjects were asked to follow randomly generated paths as quickly and accurately as possible, while being provided visual, audio, or haptic feedback. The average error and time per unit distance were collected as the subjects preformed the test. The data were analyzed using a multivariable analysis of variance test (ANOVA) in MATLAB. The procedure used to develop the test trials and the feedback modes used in the project are presented in this report. As a result, it was found that the type of feedback results in a statistically significance difference in both the error and the speed of the path following task.
