Simulation of Forces of a Sloshing Liquid The goal of this project was to create a haptic interface for a user to experience a realistic haptic sensation that is felt when a rigid container of liquid abruptly changes position. The user was instructed to naturally move a container attached to the SensAble Phantom Omni in an oscillatory fashion in the horizontal direction to test the interface. The Omni simulated the fluid sloshing forces. Results showed that the results were fairly realistic, but some users were able to determine the difference between real and simulated water.
